CAMP!!!

Ive decided not to post any this week and save it all up for one big one right before I leave for camp. So let my update you on my terribly uneventful week.
~So I did play at states, it was a great weekend. Some good team bonding time and tennis too. Unfortunatly I lost to the same kid Ive lost to now 4 times in three sets. That was a huge let down. I thought I could beat him this time. It was close. As a team I am very happy, we got 7 points 11th as a team finish as well as one of our players in the semifinals which was cool to watch a teammate play on saturday. On the way back from states we went to Fudruckers, i love that place. Overall that weekend was a blast. Im going to miss my tennis team.
~The rest of the week has been pretty chill, Ive watched some movies. Spiderman 2, Finding Nemo (classic), and some others that i cant remember their names but good movies.
~Monday was our tennis banquet, the last thing ill ever do as a member of the Garber Tennis Team :( I did clean up on the awards. I got team captain, MVP, and the Harold Holcomb coaches award which is a very prestigous tennis award at my school. After the banquet we had a pistons party to watch the stones win game 7 and advance to the finals.
~Thursday the pistons party was at my house. We had fun although the pistons got dominated...sad night.
~Almost forgot, wed me and few others watched the UofM softball game. It was sweet, 10 innings where it was won on a 3 run hommer. It was fun. Good night.
~I tried to hang out with as many people as possible before I left, even went to Kokomos yesterday with 2 guys, that was fun. Gotta love the go carts.

Im off to camp and Im going to have a blast. To those of you who wont be at camp, I will be updating my LJ while im there so if you wanna keep in touch either email me (joshua.b.g@juno.com) or post here. Hope everyone has a good summer. See you soon maybe.

So this weekend was pretty eventful. Thursday I officially graduated, yeah thats right I'm done with high school. Hopefully those who care about me at that school keep in touch because there are a few friends I would rather not lose. Also I went to New York for Year Course orientation. That was pretty blah, although I did meet some cool people who I am excited about spending a year with. It did suck that I was on crutches all weekend because we did a lot of walking...and I mean a lot. I have another MRI today, hopefully the people will finally figure out whats wrong with my knee. It is feeling a little better but its hard to believe nothing is wrong. Fingers are crossed however. Last night we had a little bonfire. Im going to miss those. Next time though we really could use a guitar, so anyone who wants to play guitar that would be fun. Oh, my grad party was yesterday. That was fun, there was more people who came then expected. Good food, good people. All in all a successful day.

STATE FINALS FRIDAY...that is if I can play. I probably will since there is so much pressure on me to play. So watch out MSU, here I come.

I will update you all on the results of my MRI and state finals in a later edition. Hope all is well wherever you are reading this.

So, tennis regionals was this last friday and it was by far the most significant moment of my tennis life occurred that day. So thursday night, something in my knee popped, and I was on crutches. The next morning right before regionals started I went to a physical therapist who did something that allowed me to move my knee/walk again. At the begining of the day it looked like i was only going to play one match and take the points and then forfeit my remaining matches. After easily winning my first match I decided to play my second match against the number 1 seed who had beaten me easily the previous time we played. Three sets and three hours later, one broken racket and bloody hand and found myself jumping with joy after defeating this almost impossible foe. That was by far the highlight of my tennis career. Unfortunately I ended up losing in the finals but it didnt matter at that point.
IM GOING TO STATE FINALS.
Great weekend although ive been limping around.
See many of you this weekend after I officially graduate on thursday.
Can't believe im done with school, its pretty cool.
Thats about it, enjoy your day/week(end) and hopefully see you soon

Its been a bit since an update so I thought I'd drop you guys a line. So it is now mathematically impossible for me to be numero uno on the all time wins list...little dissapointing but hell, it was a good run.
Just lost my two seed today because we didnt play Caro which really pisses me off. At least I got to chill with some really sweet people/person all day except for when Sherzer and Duncan were jamming at the Coffee House when I was at my moms Bday dinner....grrrr. I really wanted to see that. Sorry Sherzer and Duncan for not comming
Also, thanks to Jessie for comming to my prom. It was by far the best prom EVER. Thanks again. Also thanks to you Kuhn and Julia for comming and chillin with us. It was fun...and thanks for the sign, i liked :).
Things are cool here, little frustrating with tennis, a lot of pressure but what would life be without a little pressure.
YCO is on its way, word for that. Whomever is in NY, see ya there.
Graduation in less than 2 weeks and last day of school in 1, and only 4 days of school next week. YAY!!! im excited.

So, as you all know I turned 18 on the 20th. It was a good celebration with my tennis buds and others. It was a very enjoyable day.
Also the Garber High School tennis team now REclaims possesion to the Bay County Cup. After a domination of Western and a front page picture in the sports section ;)
Piston Parties in full swing, first one at my house was jamming with pure domination from the stones as well as the Lions having a very good draft if you asked me.
To anyone who can or will want to one day. Dont go to the casino unless you are really really lucky. First trip there was less then disrable with a big loss at the black jack table.
Hope all is well and that it stops snowing!!!

Does anyone know whose hosting the next PP???

    <lj:music>OAR - Crazy game of poker</lj:music>

So,the other day a good friends of mine dad passed away early morning. He was only 45...its been a very sad weekend with upbeat spots. We played our match on friday and won in dedication for my friend and his father. It was a very emotional day. Yesterday, the tennis team went to the funeral home...another very emotional time. Just so you know Dave, were here for you. And then last night we had a big get together at my friends house and it was cool. We made smores and hot dogs, played ping-pong and eukre. Then randomly at 12:30 dave just walked in. It was awesome. We had a good time playing guitar and free style singing...it was sweet. We played crazy game of poker 3 times: I love that song. Soon piston parties will be happening with the tennis team so im getting hyped for that. Its pretty early in the AM so im a little tired but i dont care, at 1pm today im going back to the funeral home. Who knows what after. Hope all is well everyone.

RIP M.C.

SOO close to winning my first match, it went to three sets. Everyone won at least once. We got 15 points 2 from first i thought we were going to win it for the first time in a long time. Im extremely happy especially with the 2-4 doubles, they really showed up and 2-4 singles as well.
~School work just keeps piling up and i keep trying to ignore it.
~im tired and exhausted and its only 10:30, whats going on.
~Tigers won
Anyone want to do a World Studies project for me on the Iran Iraq war???

-this will be my last contact with the outside world...well sorta for a while. I will be heading off to Florida tommorow night. Ahh, sun-heat-warmth. Can't wait. Ill get my tennis game on fo sho.
-speaking of tennis things arent too hot with that right now. Im getting a lot of pressure from my coach and especially the #2 player on the team. He's on my heels and I dont want to play 2 singles, especially my senior year. This week im really going to have to push myself to get better.
-BTW, I HATE NUEVEL. THEY SUCK. (rival tennis team/school). Unfortunatly their #1 player will probably go pro and he will woop my ass. Too bad i only have to play them 5 TIMES!!! its rediculous. At least I beat them last saturday although I wasnt playing their real one...they stack, as in put their 1 at 2 so they have a better chance of winning. Fortunatly my coach sent an email to the coach telling him to stop. Thats the last time Ill beat Nuevel now. Either way, I still hate them.
-On a random note, Im pretty much done with school with only a little over a month left after break.
-Less then a month till my Bday : |)
And thats that for my rambling for the week. Hope to talk to everyone when I get back from Florida. And if you really want to talk to me, my cell will be on...989-274-7052 if you really want to know
PEACE OUT

*This weekend marked the beginning of my match play tennis season with a tournament in Lansing. I was runner up and played terrible to lose in the finals but oh well, a 2-1 start isnt too bad. Now im only 21 wins away from being number 1 all time.
*Also this weekend I was crazy enough to run in an 8K race (I remind you, this is after playing 3 tennis matches). I ran a really good race actually. Aiming for a 9 minute mile I was running a 7:35 which is really good for me. My ending time was 38:12. Im proud of myself
*It looks like the day for my graduation party is going to be changed for Year Course Orientation. It kinda sucks that I graduate one night then leave the next morning for New York but whatever, im going on year course so its cool.
*Life is good now, just finishing up some last school work before I really quite working.
*Speeking of which. 1 WEEK TILL SPRING BREAK. Off to Florida to hone my tennis skills against my grandpa who can unfortunatly can still beat me, but we'll see if thats still true after this trip.
*All is well here, so I hope all is well with everyone else

p.s.
Well, this last weekend I was at a Bar-mitzvah at a reform congregation and this is the second reform service Ive been to and I am still not a fan of the service. The whole organ and singer doesnt do it for me.
Anyway, besides that the weekend was fun. I broke the Year Course news to all of my extended family and half of them agreed that this was a good opportunity and the other half didnt think I should go. Doesn't matter, Im going.
For those of you who care, in Detroit Metro Airport I ran into the big man 50 cent himself. It was kinda cool. I thought my sister was going to pass out though she was so excited to see him (my little sister). What sucked though was that I had a 4 hour delay in Detroit. I could have driven home and gotten home earlier rather then taking the plane.
And best of all this is the last week for grades for me. The marking period ends this week and then my grades are final for graduation so seniorritous has really set in for me. Im slacking off so bad in a week especially with Tennis.
Speaking of which tennis starts next week which is sweet and my first tourny is a week from saturday so that should be fun.
Thats all Ive got for now, enjoy your week
Josh

Hey guys, I havent posted a rant in a few days so I figured I couldnt let you guys down (just kidding)
Things are actually starting to look up, my parents are giving a serious look at year course. Right now I'm working on my essay, my app is already completed and ready to go. My parents just need to talk to Deena one more time and things should work out.
I just got back from O/T winter extravaganza which was a lot of fun. I finally got to put some faces to names from people on maz from midwest and wpa regions. It was also a lot of fun seeing people again such as Whitney, Talia, A-ron, Zach (alpert), Danny, Steffan, Sosh, Kaine, and especially Becky since who knows when Ill see her again (hopefully soon). It was also cool to meet people who I didnt know and get to know some of the chanichim that I might be councler for.
Unfortunatly I can not go to the CS shabbaton in 2 weeks but I can deal. These next few weeks I dont have a full week of school till after spring break which isnt until April which is nice.
Thats about all I have to say now, enjoy your day, week, night, whatever...hopefully see or speak to you all soon.
Josh

    <lj:music>OAR - Patiently</lj:music>

As many if not all of you know that for the past 8 months I have been attempting to convince my parents that year course is the thing for me. Well today there was a climax in my attempts today. I received a package from YJ today inside containg a DVD and $1000 scholarship to Year Course. My mom being right in front of me when opening I figured it would be a good time to bring up the subject especially with the scholarship. Not even two words into my plea, my mom flipped on me. She screamed and yelled and resulted in me being restricted from ever attending a YJ event outside of summer camp which I am staffing. This incident has caused me to go over the edge. The only good thing that came out of this was that I told my mom she could not remove me from YJ and its events so I will still see you at conventions (hopefully). In this statement I will be saying goodbye to many YJ friends. I hope this is not the final goodbye though because I will be making an attmept to visit you all in Israel during your year course stay. I hope this is not a final goodbye because you are the greatest people in my life. It really hurts me to say what I just said but I must face the facts. I love you all and PLEASE keep in touch, you mean a ton to me (thats an understatement).

Your Friend Forever,
Joshua Bergel Goldstein

I figure since nobody is going to really read this anyway I'm gonna ramble a little bit. I am extremely frustrated right now, all my friends are miles and miles away from me and only get to see them every once in a while. I cant wait for nationl midwinter, finally some time with my friends. I really could use a good friend right now...oh well, only a few more months till camp and till UofM. Dont want to bore whomever isnt reading this so ill end it at that.
Peace
